Cummings said: “to be nobody but yourself in a world in which everyone tries to make you like everyone else, is to fight the hardest battle of your life and never stop fighting.”——————————-. Conformity, and the so-called common mind is what makes people comfortable. Self-reliance and individual thought is not accepted by the common mind, the common mind cannot generate its own independent thought and therefore, rejects the possibility of any independent thought as nonsense. People seek agreement, without agreement one must stand alone, and to stand alone requires self-esteem which is a rare trait in a world of agreement and followers.

When I was a kid I did the opposite of what everyone else told me…………………………..and I was right:) LOL
